1. The times changed and so did many aspects of the world. Religion, world connection, a better future, and our culture has been changed. When you look at religion from three hundred years ago you can see that we have change to trying to understand and find our own way rather than just following the religion that we are given. With finding our own way we start to explore the world to see what new things we can follow. This leads us new world connections. The new connections we made through the travels opened up more to us. We found new places for food and a better variety of food and better food. This lead to the population growing and we moved from smaller places to bigger communities. And with more people we started to trade more and that led us to find new ways to travel or by land and water. We have a better future thanks to the travel and we are able to create better things. Because of the travel we are now able to connect to others and share our ideas with others around the world who may be able to think about it differently and improve everything. Lastly our culture has been changed thanks to our better futures. We now can learn so much more because we have more to look forward to. Thanks to our travel we can now learn and speak many different languages.
2. Progress in the world was what changed the world and all these other things were influenced by it. If we hadn't had progress we wouldn't have been able to start questioning and been curious about what we believe in and made us want to see more of the world. And when we traveled to see the world we gained access to new food and a verity of new things that made our future brighter. But progress was what set the world in motion to begin a new era. We today are the way we are because of progress.
The reason progress is what made the world into this new thing is because it gave us a sort of freedom. We started to question what we were told and what we believed in instead of following what we were told to blindly. With the explorations of ourselves we found that be individuals was the best choice and that led to wanting to know more. We craved knowledge in everything we did and thought we knew about, but once we began to discover new things we started to spread not only our knowledge, but our culture and many other things as well. We brought different food and knowledge and we were offered different knowledge as well. Different languages, different beliefs, different arts and music, more contact around the world. The list goes on and on, but I do know that progress helped start it all.
3. The enlightened era would be a world coming together to broaden and help people in it. The era is a revolution of always doing as your told with little creativity and supposedly knowing what you know with one belief system to a place of wonderment and freedom. We have a place of little progression happening to amazing huge changes over the course of a few hundred years. We are growing as a world and as individual people.
4. Voltaire believed that there should be tolerance for many other religions around the world. He fought for religious tolerance around the world and for others to be able to believe what ever they wanted to.
The issue of pastors homes and churches being burnt down by Muslim mobs. I think that Voltaire would have thought that this was bad and would have been active against it. Because this is a group of people is trying to stop others from there right to have a freedom of speech ie what they believe in. He would have spoken against it and tried to stop it. http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2010/02/10/issues-%E2%80%98is-religious-tolerance-a-success%E2%80%99.html
5.I believe that coming from middle school to CVU wide community really changed me as a person. I am the person i am today because of the drastic change from middle school, a smaller place to let out your creativity and my thoughts and opinion to a place where i found people like me with the same interests and could see things like i did.
